about

Silver Studded Sky is a song about the emptiness and beauty of the desert.

lyrics

Silver Studded Sky

Words and music © Tim Hudspith, February 1996

I’ve never seen the sun, shining quite so bright
I’ve never seen the stars, come out like this at night
I’ve never seen a road, so empty and so wide
I’m driving to the edge, of a silver studded sky

North and then north-west, into country I love best
Where city lights instead, are sunsets burning red
I see the eastern dark, and I’m almost satisfied
I’m nearly at the heart, of a silver studded sky

I think I see the stars
I’m nearly at the heart
I’m nearly at the heart
Of a silver studded sky

A silver studded sky
A silver studded sky
